<p>Just plain Sat II French. Unless french was one of your first languages and you speak it quite fluently, in which case you should probably take the speaking test.</p>

<p>You don't actually talk, but you have to listen to different dialogues in french and answer multiple choice questions based on what you heard.</p>
<p>Well, it depends on whether you think listening comprehension is easy... or easier than reading comprehension. You can't necessarily judge by how well you understand your teacher, either. If you have experience listening to a tape or TV or something, and you're pretty good at it, Listening might be easier. (only offered in Nov, though, so be careful). The listening test has less reading. I have a lot of trouble with spoken French, so I opted for the SATII w/o listening.</p>
<p>im from india and most schools dont offer french past the freshman and sophomore years(but we cover a lot before freshman year as well)....but we have an option of pursuing one subject on our own and taking a final exam on it with our other subjects in the senior years... </p>
<p>so i wanted to ask what the basic course is for french sat II.
is it a lot of grammar or mostly comprehension?
are we required to write essays or answers or anything?
which is a good book to help study for it,
and also, ill be taking english sat II and math IC as well...so im hoping that if i take a french sat II as well it'll show that i took the extra effort or something, since i didnt have it in school..do u think that'll be the case or is it just a waste of time?</p>

<p>As already mentioned, neither is necessarily easier than the other. It depends at what you find more easy: listening or reading.</p>
<p>For someone who is good at understanding spoken-French, the listening is easier. I am much better at understanding French in conversation/speaking than reading it because I was living in France but not learning French in school. For someone who finds themselves understanding French music, videos, news, etc. with greater ease than by reading it, it would be the best choice to take listening. For someone who struggles with spoken-French, but has a strong aptitude with reading/writing comprehension, the regular French SAT II should be taken. Neither test is easier than the other, it depends on what you are strong at.</p>
