SAT II Latin Exam

I'm a sophomore looking to take the SAT II Latin test this June. I know that not many students take the SAT II Latin test in comparison to the other SAT IIs, but I'm also aware that there are a handful of CC Latin students! The students who have taken the SAT II Latin test at my school have scored really well, but have taken it after Latin V. At my school, Latin IV and V are AP Latin (literature) courses. The kids who have taken it after Latin V (senior year) had to go back and review some of the concepts they learned earlier because of the different approach they adopted in Latin IV and V. For this reason, my teacher is suggesting for me to take the exam at the end of this year, Latin III. My teacher is amazing and more than willing to work with me, and has even said that, at our school, Latin IV and V are above SAT II Latin level. Latin III is our last year of intense grammar focus, and we will have finished learning all the concepts tested in the exam by the end of the year. For those of you have taken it/are going to take it, I've got a few questions. First of all, when did take/are you taking the test (after what level of Latin)? Next, what did you do to study? We use a variety of textbooks in class and our teacher pulls material from a many sources. But in particular, how did you go about preparing? Lastly, I was just wondering how your scores compared in relation to your National Latin Exam scores (if you took it). I've scored well on the NLE the past three years and am trying to see if I can gauge my SAT II Latin score from my performance on the NLE. Thanks ahead of time!

I used Smith and Thompson's first and second year latin circa 1946--though I only studied for a year and a half--and assorted independent translations of Ovid, Morus, and Virgil for last June's test. You ought to do fine seeing as your preparation certainly seems much more extensive than mine and I managed to get an 800. As for the NLE, I've never taken it so I can't really attest.

Bump?

How hard is the curve on the latin test? Can i miss 5 and still get a perfect?
