SAT II Literature - Barrons or Kaplan?

Which test prep book has more accurate practice tests?

I've done some Kaplan ones and I usually end up in the mid 750s. But Kaplan tends to have simpler practice tests usually. Can anyone confirm this?

I thought both books were terrible. The best thing to use are the real tests (Blue book) and read some poetry, including modern poetry. There are plenty of good anthologies (look for Norton Anthologies at your library if you don't have it) and lots of poetry on the internet.

Just took the Literature test today. Didn't study at ALL for the test since I'm under the mentality of retaking it next year. I think the SAT Lit is the only SAT II for which you can't buy a book and study. It comes from your daily reading habit.

I think the Kaplan tests are a joke, they're way too easy. The reason I bought Kaplans is because it comes with 7 practice tests, I get about 750+ on them, my high is 780. I DO NOT expect to get that score tomorrow.

i dunno whats wrong with me but i cant do anything on kaplan
on kaplan i get like 600, but on a regular practice test (actual old one) i got 730

lol, on an official practice test book from 1995 I only got 620. Some one PLEASE tell me that the lit test was harder 7 years ago.

haha im pretty sure it was GlueEater. most tests were harder before...i tried a math iic one from 1995. and oh god. not good. =S

Thank god

10 char

wow, this is an old post, so the tests back then are really harder? cool! I got a 730 on the 1995 Lit test and freaked out because I thought they got harder…

No third-party book will have tests as accurate as the official CollegeBoard ones. Use the reference book for understanding the syllabus or for revising some terms. Take the practice tests, but don’t expect a surefire comparison chart to the actual tests.

If you want accurate scores, buy the CollegeBoard Blue book and take the tests in that.
