SAT II Match IIC and IC

Ok I have a question: I am not a very strong maths person. Like I have good grades etc in math and took Calc at Harvard this summer. I went from Algebra II to Calc I. Anyways I wanted to know if I take Math IC SAT II, will it hurt my chances? Like I know calc, but not that extensively as its covered in the IIC. Anyways, what do you suggest? Would a 750-800 be impressive in IC or would they prefer IIC? My other SAT IIs r pristine, 800 spanish, 750 US Hist, 740 Bio

If you've already taken 3 SAT IIs, why do you want to take another?

I think they prefer IIC BUT IC is harder in a sense that the curve sucks! You miss one questions and lose 20points while in the IIC you can miss seven questions and get 800! AWESOME! Don't take another test man! Anything above 750 is happy days :)

I agree with apfreak, don't take Math IC, the curve is pretty harsh. Math IIC doesn't really cover calculus, except for the occasional limit problem (which is pretty basic calc). You already have 3 great scores on 3 SAT II's, each from a different subject, so you're good.

You will fail at Harvard if you don't pump that Math IIC above 760. Seriously. You will die. Even if you manage to get in, you'll be left in the dust.

And the guy who said the IC was easier is a douchebag. Ignore him and everything you've ever heard him say.

^

just don't talk. please

Lol thanks. But since we all know that admissions is a crapshoot, Im also applying to other schools. MIT, for example want a math, science, and whatever else. I have the whatever else covered, however, I somewhat know precalc but not to the extent that most of you do. So let me rephrase. If I were to hypothetically get a 750 on the IIC or a 750 on the IC, which one would be more favorable. Im sorry im stressing this, but I really, really suck at math. Lol. I kick @@@ in everything else (including science)

If you're applying to MIT, I would definitely take the IIC. You'll be fine if you study for it.

Pristine?? I don't think so. The 800 on the Spanish looks good but you might need a couple more 800's to convince the admissions officer to accept you.

Given that MIT requires the IIC, I'd suggest you take the IC to prevent you from watching yourself fail.

Id be glad if my IIC is a 700. For someone like me its impressive (poor lationo, single mother)

What the hell is a lationo?

Just kidding, but if you're not a strong applicant in math, why consider MIT? They stress math to an almost absurd level there.

And paizuri, do yourself a favor (and me) a favor and harass people on the Yale forum.

Well the Sloan school is what I was aiming for there. I also know that they want to boost up their humanities department. Even though they are a tech school, they would really like to kick HYPS ass in the humanities
