you dont need to finish precalc. i took it in November during precalc class (early in the term) and i got 800

I was doing problems in the Barron's diagnostic and it seems to have so much stuff that the PR book didn't cover...does the PR book have everything one needs to know for the test and Barron's covers extra?

barron's is insane. if you do mediocre on a barrons test you will do well on the real.

haithman:

I can attest to that. Getting like a 750 on the Barrons almost ensures an 800.

I had a friend who took math level 2 and she said that it was insanely hard. She took it in June after finishing precalc and she said that most of the stuff on the test wasn't even taught in her precalc (honors) class. She cancelled her scores.

I find that hard to believe, that "most of the stuff on the test wasn't even taught in her precalc (honours) class."

Some stuff, maybe. But most? Besides, she should have bought a study book; concepts like vectors and limits (weren't in my precal class) are easy.

I'm taking Precalc now and let's just say that math isn't my forte. I mean, I have a solid A in the class but I've gotten two B-'s on tests and the only reason I have an A is because of homework and extra credit. Do you think if I bought a prep book now and started studying a little each day I would be okay for the test in June? Okay as in 800?

BTW, I like how you added a "u" in "honours".

that test is somewhat hard for me because my precalc teacher didnt challenge us for honors. we had at least 1/3 of our tests as open book and out of that 1/3 about 1/2 of them were open book group tests. i hope he keeps up that trend for ap calc, although it didnt motivate me to learn the test material thoroughly because of the resources he usually allowed.

"BTW, I like how you added a "u" in "honours"."

I hope that you recognize that I'm using the Canadian/British spelling, and not mocking a perceived spelling error. ;)

Wow you've had 1000 posts!

No, I wasn't mocking you...I just found that pretty interesting and awesome.

I took pre calc in 10th grade, and am now a senior. I took calc last year, but to me calculus wasnt nearly the same. (I took honors calc, not AP). Now, I need to take SAT II's for placement into the college I got accepted to (NC State). Are there any sites to refresh my memory?

out of curiosity did the actual format/test questions/material tested on the math level 2 change when collegeboard revamped the SATs in 2005?

I know collegeboard changed the math section on the actual SAT in 05, so I'm wondering if they changed the SAT II math level 2 to reflect these changes.

5 years later, I am wondering the same thing…
