SAT II Math Level Two May 2012

For that one that had three choices and you had to pick the one that was false, I put I was false. it said if

I. x can’t equal -2, then x^2 + 4 can’t equal 8. Thats false bc x can equal -2.

Young Derivative: The question asked for POLAR coordinates, not rectangular ones…? we never had to use the equation x=rcos…

wait… doesn’t r mean the radius…

so if you graph r=cosɵ
…

you get 1 for x…

so… isnt that the answer?

T_T thats what i got…

Wait for x^2+4 one you were supposed to choose the false one?

■■■ -.-

Everybody!!!: There are two different forms of the test!!! One for west coast (mine) that had the taxi cab driver as the problem; the east coast one had a telephone rate. Dont be confused between the two

Uh, I live on the east coast and had taxi cab.

Well either way there were two different types for mine i had something with select the true statement of the three while someone else had select the one that is false. (look above) There are definetly two different forms.

wow this thread has slowed down a lot since 10pm lol. also we’ve only been discussing the same 16 or so questions :frowning: and meepster you missed the sin shift one and the terminal side quadrant one

also I am 99% sure the cars one is six factorial. red HAS to be in front and green HAS to be on the back. those remain constant, so you count them out of the factorial expression

Yes, I’m now convinced that the answer is 6!. I remember drawing a picture with red in front and green in back (with six blanks in between).

studious any other random answers you may remember?

I remember the range of the sin function being -4<=f(x)<=2. I’m trying to sift through my memory, but the first thirty or so were very easy.

I don’t know if someone mentioned this, but there was one asking about y being a function of x. Did we just have to do the vertical line test? (Do you remember the answer choice?)

@studiousmaximus - I got that too! :)

i got that as well studious.
& i used vertical line test, the answer was fairly obvious. I believe it was E.

There was a problem about a 1.5 increase in population per generation. Does the number 338 sound familiar?

^^ Yep, vertical line test. I got E as well.

^Yes, I got 338.

phew. it was 337.5, so i thought i might have been wrong.

Everyone, try to think of more questions. If you can, remember a few from the earlier portion of the test. If we work together, we can get a lot more questions confirmed. As of right now, we only have around 20 confirmed (though they are the hardest 20).

3 wrong and 3 omitted and possibly a margin of error of 2…should i cancel? i’m a robotic perfectionist and i need an 800!
