SAT II Regrets

So for those very few who didn't recieve 800s on their SAT IIs, what would you have done differently (study more, take different test, take later, different prep book, more prep books, etc)? In what areas would have you studied more for each exam? What do you think was the cause of your less than perfect score? What are your regrets?

What the hell are you talking about? The "very few" that didn't get 800? The majority don't get 800, dude! And most of us are happy with 750+ scores -- what's the point of being a perfectionist on a tiny test? I have straight 770's, and don't have any regrets..

If you really are frustrated that you missed 800, you need to get your priorities in order. Not only does that fact not matter for admissions, but it won't matter 3, 10, 20 years down the road. Grow up.

Um... dude, not the whole "SAT scores don't matter speech" again. They matter; they're not everything, but they matter.

Jeez, man. Most people don't get 800s on the subject tests. Anyway, I've only taken one so far (Math Level 1) and I scored 710. I didn't get an 800 because I simply did not study or practice enough. And I was so busy trying to help my friend get her scores into the 700s that I didn't really care about my score.

yeah................talking about getting 800

my bro got 800 in maths

For the easy exams like the SAT Subject Tests it would seem like the majority of people taking them would get 800s considering those who are taking them are applying to schools that require them (HYPSMC) and that most people take subjects that they can probably ace. Don't take your anger out on me. And please tell me whether you would keep your low score than trade it in for an 800. I thought not.

I get 800's on all my subject tests and I'm a n00b

i can't be bothered by the sats by this moment. it's a flawed system of assessment. period.

you want to see good lit students? read their bloody essays, not their shaded ovals.

bullocks! What about the AP English Literature and Composition exam?

to reduce a lit exam to mcq? hello?

for science subjects- okay. but lit- where there's not really a right or wrong, gives you pretty little room to disagree.

For me, I kind of dozed off a little on the Lit. SAT II, so my advice would be to get enough sleep the night before.

yeah... anyway, back to the point of the thread. Some advice would be, get a full 8+hours of sleep, and eat breakfast. I didn't even come close to 800, more like 3 500s for me :P. Only 5 hours of sleep and having only milk for breakfast does not help. And don't expect that Math II has anything to do with AP Calc., because it doesn't. My advice; take Math II right after/during taking Pre-calc, cuz all of the stuff will be fresh in your brain. Unless you're a super math person who remembers all of this stuff, which i'm not at all. Lastly, don't take 3 SAT II's all at once. Most likely you'll get burned out, and give up after the 1st one

i regret not puttin in not taking enough practice tests for bio...

770 :(

Not that I regret it, I probably should have looked into what I was getting myself into when I signed up for the Literature test. I had put my name up just to fill up a third test, and two days before the test, I decided to look up the Collegeboard sample questions. Not exactly a confidence boost...

Anyways, 720.

QFT!

You read the paragraph(s). You answer questions about the paragraph(s).

What's so difficult about that, I don't even know.
