SAT II, SAT subject tests, SELF-STUDY AP?

Could someone please tell me the difference from those three - SAT II, Sat Subject tests and SELF-STUDY AP? I really don't understand. Thanks in advance.

SAT IIs and the SAT Subject tests are the same thing, which is basically a test in a specific subject such as Physics, Literature, or Biology. AP, is an abbreviation for Advanced Placement which is where students in high school take rigorous courses in a variety of topics. In May they have the option of taking a test on that subject and if they do good, usually a four or five out of five, they can get college credit. If someone self-studies an AP class that means that they take the test but not the class.

oh, Thank you!

The SAT II subject tests are 1 hour in length and can be taken on most SAT test dates (not March). You can take up to three subject tests at one sitting and you can retake each test to help raise your score.

The AP tests are given over the first 2 weeks of May and are three hours in length. You can only take each subject one time. If you score a 4 or 5 on the test many colleges, but not all, give college credit hours. The number of credit hours varies by test, math and science get the most credit.

Studying for the SAT IIs is not that hard since most students take them after they have just taken the course, but there are practice tests available so you can see how you do ahead of time.

The AP tests take a great amount of time to prepare for, especially if you are self-studying. There are CC forums for the SAT IIs and the APs that you should look at that have lots of great information.

Thanks Hornfrogfan!
