SAT II scores too low?

My scores were finally released today on the CB website. I really didn't think I did well, so I'm not too disappointed, but I'm afraid my scores will hurt my application.

Literature: 730
Math II: 690
US History: 690

I am trying to decide what to do now. I did next to no preparation for these tests (trust me, I had planned on it, but other things ended up arising). My dream school is Rice, and I will be applying there ED this fall. I am also applying to WashU, University of Rochester, University of Texas Plan II, and Johns Hopkins, to name a few. I would like to go into pre-med.

My SAT score is a 2260:
Reading: 740
Math: 800
Writing: 720

My ACT composite is a 34. I have a 4.2 weighted GPA, but my school is pretty competitive and I have a relatively low class ranks (~ 7-8%). What do you guys recommend I do with regards to the SAT subject tests? I know Rice is a reach, but it really is my dream school. I am also worried because their website says that the subject tests should be in your intended field of study. However, I will not be able to take an AP science class until this year, so I feel as though I would be unprepared for a science SAT II. I am not necessarily going to be majoring in Chem or Bio, but I probably won't be majoring in English either. Is my Lit score good enough? I was considering taking Math I and Math II in October and submitting whichever I score higher on. Obviously, I would do more preparation this time around. Please give me any advice. I am white and female and live in Texas, if any of that makes a difference...

Bump! Please give me advice!!

If you use the ACT many schools do not require the SAT II - Check your target schools’ requirements. “Washington University does not require SAT Subject Tests (formerly SAT II: College Board Achievement Tests). However, if you do take them and submit your scores, we will only consider them if they strengthen your application.”

I think your Lit score is actually very good.

Lit is excellent, and good job on your SAT I. I think USH is fine too, considering how difficult it can be, but I think retaking the math II is smart because the curve is extremely generous, and around 10% of people that take it get an 800. If your school’s extremely competitive, then you’ll want your app to be top-notch, and math II is an easy SAT to improve on. I wouldn’t study for the math I. It doesn’t look as good, and you have to get all of the questions correct to get an 800, whereas 6-7 wrong on the math II gets you an 800.

Top 7-8% of your school is really good, nice job :]
