I just got my SAT II scores back. 700 in U.S. History and 690 in Literature. I wish I got higher, for sure, but I was just wondering if these are good for Wellesley?

Wellesley looks at the whole context of your application, so one specific score won’t be an automatic accept or reject for an applicant. What are your other scores like: SAT I, GPA, etc? Extracurriculars? Any awards or recognitions?

I would say as a whole these scores are alright – again, they’re not going to get you accepted and they’re not going to get you rejected…

thanks!
i was just wondering because i’m planning to retake my SAT I’s in october and my gpa isnt that great.

I know that Wellesley tries to be more comprehensive than just looking at the numbers… but will having a 640 in math II hurt me much, assuming the rest of my application is decent (albeit not perfect)? That’s also my SAT I math score right now, though that should go up when I take it again in October.

My other SAT II right now is a 780 in US history.

EDIT: Okay, I know my question is a bit vague. But will Wellesley ad com eyebrows go up fairly quickly once they see that score?

I think it depends on where your strengths are. Your US history score is good – if you are a person who is interested in history/english/the humanities, the Wellesley adcom may overlook a lower math score. If, on the other hand, you wanted to be a math major and got a 640 on the math II exam, that might raise some eyebrows.

Congrats again on the history score, and good luck with the SAT re-take!

Okay. Thank you very much, welles10! :)
