Well, I don't know anyone whose ever taken an SAT II on spanish. I'm thinking of taking it this upcoming November. Has anyone taken it? Is it even worth taking it?

It depends on how comfortable you are with the language. If you’re a native speaker, or have been taking Spanish for many years, you probably won’t have any issues at all scoring in the 700-800 range. I think that the SATII is very similar to the old-style AP Spanish Language test - it includes many basic grammar questions and reading-comprehension passages that are not very difficult, in my opinion. As a whole, I think it’s a pretty fair measure of knowledge (i.e. not too easy or too hard). Even if you haven’t been taking language courses very long, I believe it’s fairly easy to score 700+ simply by reviewing grammar concepts and practicing reading/listening comprehension.

I took the SAT Spanish test in June after completing AP Spanish. It tested grammar, comprehension and vocab. I bought Barron’s prep book but I only took one practice test, I didn’t really study…I was really nervous and thought I bombed it because I skipped like 10 and guessed on a BUNCH. I pulled off a 710 though. I would advise you to get Barron’s if you want to take it and if you read through the grammar guide like twice and take maybe 4 or 5 of the 10 practice tests you’ll get above a 750. Good luck!
