SAT II World History

any tips for it? any methods? i took a practice test in like 55 minutes, got only a 680! :( I want an 800. I just bought cb's blue book for it. any websites/ practice exams to share? thanks.

I'm reading Barrons (AP b/c it's so detailed). It's a ton to wade through, but it's not too bad since I remember a lot from the AP test. As for practice exams, you should be good with the 3 from CB (blue book + SAT II history book). Just take each of them, then review every answer, even if you got it right.

I used the Kaplan book to study for the world history SAT 2. On the practice tests I would get 650s and lower, but on the actual exam I scored a 740. So, that was a nice surprise for me.

The same thing might very well happen to you, so don't sweat it really.

^ heh is it because the real exam was easier than the kaplan ones or was it that you got better? because ive been studying for the history exam but getting low 600s and im deciding not to take the test

I don't think it was because I got better. I took my last practice test the night before the real one and got a 650. But from what I can remember, the actual test wasn't much harder. Maybe it just had a better curve than the one in the book? I can't really say. But most likely you'll do better on the actual test.

The practice exams on the review books are above the real thing. DId your book's scoring include a curve? The Blue book with the real test is a really good one to take after you've studied the material.

thanks guys.

also another thing, does anyone know the curve for the real test? cuz the curve in kaplan differs from the one from sparknotes (kaplan is much more lenient)

I've heard that both 10ish and 16ish wrong is 800 and approximately double that for both is 700. Either way, it's not a bad curve.
