Ok, I got a 690 on the official collegeboard blue world history practice test booklet. You think this is accurate? Cus I would like to get an 800!!! How do I improve in 5 days? Thanks.

Of course it's accurate, it's a released test! Anyway, if you don't already have it, get the individual CB study guide for World History (comes in the same book as USH). That's two more practice tests. My strategy:

Get through as much Barrons as possible (helps a TON)

Periodically take a practice test, I've taken one so far

Set aside an hour to go over what I got wrong, reading every answer explanation

Write out every question and answer that I had even the SLIGHTEST doubt about. The point of the practice tests is to learn from your mistakes and in the process gain historical knowledge

Review the stuff from #4 before each exam

Seems to work. I got a 740 on the first practice exam not even halfway through my review.

Just read whatever prep book you have and get off CC.

lol I'm pretty much using the same prep as jamesford is. I got a 750 on my first practice test. I'm not really focusing on WH though, my biggest worries for Saturday are Physics and Math2 =/

It would be accurate and highly unlikely to get a 800 within 5 days unless you're a master crammer who happens to cover the right material.

^ History is pretty crammable, but Barrons isn't. Thankfully I remember most stuff from AP, so I'm just filling in the gaps now.

Thanks guys.. wow 4 more days..better start cramming..I don't have Barron's but I have the PR for AP World History, so I'll just read that fully, take the two practice tests in my official cb World History book, check over them, etc. Lol, just to be exact, here's my plan:
starting right now- (5 pm Tuesday)- Read PR book
10 pm- do 1st practice test
11 pm- check over all answers, review them.
~1 am- go to bed
Wednesday- continue PR book, hopefully get halfway done, highlight stuff. etc.
Thursday- continue PR book, hopefully get to 1914. do 2nd practice test, check over all answers, review them.
Friday- finish PR book, review key concepts, go on some helpful websites, do random questions, eat healthy, go to bed early.
Saturday morning- healthy breakfast, answer random questions to start off my brain, take the test and ace it!!!

Just get off CC and start studying. Pull the plug from your computer if you have to.

Wow you have time to read for 5 hours? I have practice and other hw, which sucks.

A word of advice: don't do a practice exam late at night. I took a math II exam (unofficial) at 10 pm last night and worked a lot slower. Ended up getting ~800 (I have to guess since it doesn't come with a scale), but did worse than I should've. Also, it shouldn't take an hour to review your answers. Finish by 12 and get to bed.

yeah..for me it isn't exactly cramming cus i knew the info from the AP exam..prob got a 5, just kinda forgot some others..lol and the SAT II's format is slightly different..so yeah. u know what i mean

to jamesford, yeah i had cross country practice until 5 pm, then i came back. i have homework too, but since its almost the end of the year and I have guaranteed all A's, I'm just not gonna do them :P

Is the SAT subject test for world history easier or harder than the AP world history exam?

Dude...day 5 of 8....i got done with 5 units out of 8 total. 304 pgs(60pgs/day)
My score raised from 490 to a mid 600's. Barrons is giving me hope!

lol gl bro =D

Is it just me or is the 2nd practice test in the official guide a lot harder than the first? This might be just because it focused MUCH more on 1750+ history, which I haven't covered yet.

idk, ive only taken the 1st one. hmm... anyone else aiming for an 800?

I hope to. But, I'd be satisfied with 750, considering I'm not a big history fan and I don't plan on studying it much in college.

I've only taken the first one as well. I'll probably take the second one tomorrow. I'll let you know =]

I'm aiming for an 800. I took the first practice test about a week ago and got 750 without studying. I've been reading up a little bit this week primarily on everything before 1750, so I'll see how I do tomorrow.

cool.. i just got a hold of an SAT II world history barron's book gonna do a practice test review some stuff see how i do..and i also got a barron's SAT II math IIC one..anyone know what to do with it after the test? I was thinking of just returning it to the store so i can get my money back..i have wasted too much money this year on prep books..prob gonna return it..anyone here tried it before ? it work?

how many questions can you get wrong (assuming that you answer all 95 of them) to still get an 800?

I think 16?
