here's a essay i wrote, my first one for the SAT II writing test, since i've been cramming for finals up till now.
ANywys, can you guys rate it for me and give me tips since i'm worried becuase i put a spin on this essay and i'm wondering if that would be allowed on the test, since if i did not the example on their own would have been very weak.

QUESTION:
" the strong do what they wish"

THe phrse, "the strong do what they wish" hs been echoed repeatedly in both literture and history. From To kill mockingbird to the Trdegy of NUmanica, those with power have long trodden on those weker than them. However, Even though the strong may do whta they wish, they will never brek the spirit of those weker thn them.

ONe such example cn be seen in To KIll A mockingbird. The overpowered ll-white jury rules in favor of a white women, Myella Ewell, taking her word against that of a black man. This happened at a point in time when all the evidence pointed to falsified courtcse ment to be used to "sve face" for Myella. She ws destined to win this court fcse even though if ws apparent she lied. THis sad case renders Tom, the black man, a prison inmate, and much harrsement for the FInch family, of which Atticus was the lwyer representing TOm. Nevertheless, lthough in the end the powerful were to win, Atticus' spirt ws not broken, since he showed the community of Maycomb that his integrity ws intact by tking this case on in the first place, even though he knew that he would never win.

A similar result cn be seen from history itself. The Twon of NUmncia, in Northern Spain, ws desetined to be decimated, as the stronger Romans lay seige on their city. The Romn Generl EMiliano Escipcion could do whtever he wnted. INtsted, he decided to torutre them by diverting their wter supplies nd annoucing a fifteen minuete ultimum. However, when they opened the city wlls to burn down the city, they found not a single living soul. All commited suicide rather thn to fll into the hands of the enemy. To say NUmancia is to say brutal courge, and for that history can show us what literture has shown us before.

I most certianley agree that " the strong do what they wish" Hoever, i don't believe that they can break the spirit of the weak in the process. HIstory and literature have all borne testimony to that.

sorry, keyboard's relly old........
