Does it hurt to take one of your two SAT II's in your native language?

I've already taken one in Math IIC (780) but I was wondering if it would be a negative for me if I just took a language for my second SAT II. I plan on taking three, one of which will be a history, but would it just be better not to take Korean if I am Korean American?

and actually that brings me to another question, how much significance is placed on SAT II's in terms of admission. Is it necessarily good to have more SAT II's? And is it more important that, say, your GPA?

I don't think it would hurt to have an 800... and plus some say Korean American's can't even get an 800... it just shows that you're proficient in that language... plus ur intending on taking another one... so it doesn't matter really if u take a language test in ur native tongue...

In my opinion, you should take it if you're confident that you'd get in the high 700s or 800, but you should not think of it as one of your required SAT IIs. If you do well, it looks good, but don't depend on it being one of your required tests because it won't be taken as seriously.

I dunno, I think adcoms generally aren't terribly impressed if they see an 800 on a SAT II in the student's native language. I mean, the level of mastery achieved by someone who grew up speaking a language exceeds that of anyone who learned it later in life, and the SAT IIs are meant to test proficiency in a foreign language. If you're not confident that you can get a high score on your native language test, don't take it.

I'd say GPA is more important than SAT IIs.
