Yeah, I know that AP's are harder that SAT II's, that is not my question. My question is: is it necessary to take the SAT II for a subject in which you are already taking an AP?

According to my college counsellor, SAT IIs (and SAT I) play a much more integral role than APs in college admissions. APs are self-reported, so you can send in (only) your good scores and show the extent of your study in a subject, and they can be used towards college placement or credit after you enroll. SAT IIs, on the other hand, are often required by college admissions and so factor in more directly to the admissions process. So they serve different purposes, but many people will say you might as well take the SAT II in a subject after studying for and taking the AP.
