Do most people get into CAS with just 2 SAT II scores? I got a 770 USH and 790 Spanish and im debating whether or not to take world history next october. Ill be applying ED and i want to do the china and asia-pacific studies program if i get in, if that makes a difference.

I’m not totally sure cuz I’m a junior myself, but I just went to a Cornell presentation and the Admissions Officer told me that anything about a 650 is fine; your scores are exemplary. I would not be concerned with taking a 3rd AT ALL. If all of your other credentials are as good as those scores, you’re a sure shot.

650 is more like a minimum, given that your scores are great everywhere else. I’d say anywhere around 710-740 is average, and getting above that is good but it wouldn’t save you. SAT IIs really do not matter as much as SAT Is.

^^ I agree with Colene, from what I’ve heard SAT II’s allow schools to see what you’re good at and comparatively how good you are at them. You really do want to hit above 700 in the subject tests (just as you did) because this is supposedly a strength. If you send in a 600 score you’re saying (with the exception of some tests) that you’re not amazing at what you think you’re good at.
