Okay, yesterday when I ws at the library, I happened to open one of those gigantic books w/ info on every college in the country. I thought I knew pretty much everything about Bryn Mawr, but in the book I discovered that if you were submitting the SAT that you had to take 3 SAT IIs. I was dumbfounded that I had never come across this before. I spent last night combing BMC’s website, and NOWHERE (and I mean nowhere) did it say ANYTHING about being REQUIRED to take the SAT II! So now I’m panicking b/c the soonest SAT IIs ar January 22, way after the deadline. I can’t believe it! Am I going to be able to apply to my dream school at all?!??!?!?!

tears out hair
screams

Oh dear! I read twice in their booklet that you needed them. The first time it said SAT I and 3 SAT IIs, and the other time it said those OR the ACT.

My friend applied ED to Brown and they have the same requirements BMC does. She decided to submit her ACT, but they wrote her a letter saying she HAS to have her SAT IIs. So now she has to withdraw her ED app! She's on standby testing for the December SAT, but if she doesn't she's not allowed to apply to Brown at all.

My advice: Get on standby testing for December. Also, call Bryn Mawr and ask about the requirements, they may still let you apply RD.

Good luck, I'm so sorry that happened! I just took my SAT IIs for fun, I didn't realize I'd actually need them, so I just lucked out, I guess. :

Yeah, I found it in the booklet too, yesterday. But they didn't send that to me until about a few weeks ago. I mean some people don't even send off for those! They should have "admissions requirements" or something on their website! But no...

Don't panic. I had the same problem and wrote an email to the dean of admissions. I received this email from Bryn Mawr College:

"Yes, you can still apply for Winter or Regular
decision when you take your SAT II's in January. Just make sure that you
make a note of that in your application."

You're in Luck! I'm in the same boat as you so don't worry :D

Michele

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOHOO! does happy dance I was afraid I would get stuck at Chapel Hill like my mother wants.

Stuck at CH? THat's a lot of people's dream school, you know :-P

I know, but I've been around it all my life, so I don't exactly have stars in my eyes like everyone else. :D

I'm glad I made your day! Always glad to make people happy :D!

Yes you did. Thanks! BMC is my DREAM school.

Yea, wouldn't it be cool if we all are classmates next year :D! It'll be great.
Michele

Yes, it would.

It would be very interesting to meet with everyone after all of this, especially at BMC! Yay for us, hopefully Bryn Mawr class of '09.

Now all that's left is getting those acceptance letters!

(why do I have an awful feeling that I'll be deferred?)

It would be great to meet up with everyone after this (all wearing red, of course). Cheer up wolfstarslasher! Be positive!

I shall be positive from now on.

After all, there's no use fretting about the letter, it's still 2-3 weeks away!
