thanks everyone.........

By the way, Can a great essay compensate the LOW SAT score?

I dont think so-they might feel that u had somebody else write ur essay....

A low sat score doesn't necessarily conclude to a bad writing skill.

BUT

If you have a writing score of 450 (or something in that range), and had a brilliant essay, then they'll raise an eyebrow.

Here's a thought. Who's to say that a teacher writing a recommendation isn't going to exaggerate about a student's abilities, etc., so that he/she can have the privilige of saying "oh yes, I helped so and so get into HYP, etc."??? I mean, how does HYP know the difference between an honest rec and a "put on"??????

what SATII subject test should we take? they say on their website that you can choose whatever three but i've heard that every college want applicants to take math, science, and either history or language/literature

adcoms keep track of some teachers, and there are some teachers who are known to say that theyve got the best student of their career every year! obviously this only happens w a few cases, but teachers usually give honest recommendations so as to not ruin their credibility.

I got in with a 1230, so theres no cutoff i think. If they want you bad enough theyll get you in.

I got in with
81.6 avg
1230 SAT
650, 580, 540 SAT2/s

granted im an athlete but they have no cutoff i think

well, if you're an recruited athlete, then you're definitely out of our league... i guess the discussion on importance of SATs pertains to normal applicants, non-legacies, URM, or athletes...

nod...........
Is there anyone get into Prin. with great essay and low SAT score?
I'm nervous.........since the pool is so COMPETITIVE, and being an Asian is a great disadvantage....

Finnjav: What sport did you get in with?

Track and Field
