@sghopeful
That’s highly unlikely.I think it would be like 750 or around there.

@kimayu tts assuming u have an essay score of 10 or above…

@Kimayu / zackzm what are your likely scores for all 3 sections? I have no idea how to determine the number of mistakes I have made on the writing section… CR probably <10 mistakes Maths probably 1… Really worried that I can’t hit 2100 because I don’t want to sit for this 4hour test all over again…

@reflection09

i suggest going through the blue book (which most ccers are well acquainted with), in particular the writing curve of the first 3 tests, which are reat tests administered previously. this means the curve was actually applied to actual tests, in comparison to the other tests in the same book, whose contents are amalgams…

based on your own gauge of mistakes, you should b on course for 2100. maths 760; cr 680-700/; wr (680-740).

@reflection09
I’m not sure about the writing and Math section since we only discussed so few questions.As for CR,at we don’t know what the answers are for some questions.So,I can’t really tell.

one way of gauging ur mistakes is thru determining how many No Errors or NEs you have. the general rule of thumb is that in most tests, the writing section should only have 2-3 NEs.

for our test, it seems that there are only 2 NEs… read my post at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/1075298-sat-january-2011-international-discussion-post11875601.html#post11875601....

@Kimayu the maths section was pretty straight forward other than the “multiple of 4” question which I didn’t really understand what they were asking for. As for the writing section, identification of errors and improving sentences was manageable. I found the improving paragraphs harder than usual. Anyone remembers the passage / questions / choices?

@zackzm yea i only found 2 questions with NEs the rest are pretty obvious especially after practising McGrawHill’s 2010 SAT book…

@reflection
Its about the soap operas right?The first one was like the definition of soaps and the rest…I’m not so sure.

@Kimayu It’s ok. but i was wondering if it was in the math experimental section or if it was normal
did you have math as your experimental?

@SnowyMaple
Yeap,I did have the Math experimental.But the only question I remember from there is the probability of the guy working on Tuesday question.

probability of the guy working on tuesday excluding sunday over 2 working days a week
= probability of guy working on tuesday on first day excluding sunday+ probability of guy working on tuesday on the second day excluding sunday
= (1/6)(5/5) + (5/6)(1/5) = 1/3

@zackzm
So what does -2 in Math equal to?

According to the curve at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/1075298-sat-january-2011-international-discussion-post11883983.html#post11883983:

-2=750

Once again, I emphasize the following: do not stick blindly to the given curve, due to the very fact that the experimentals are different. a 10-20 pt deviation is a reasonable barometer.

apologies for the double posts as a result of technical errors on my side.

Right.Thanks.:)

you guys sure about that newton shakespeare is experimental? cuz I totally blew that one^^

@tracychung

u joined in aug but only started posting today?

we re quite certain its the experimental based on the passages tt have been discussed

@Tracychung, Newton Shakespeare was experimental since I did’t have it in my test.
