It was almost certainly contented. She said that she should have been sad for not having a job but instead was happy.

That’s a minor detail

it was a passage as a whole question, and as a whole she was ambivalent

@aag123 According to dictionary.com

Contented:
satisfied with what one is or has; not wanting more or anything else.

Sounds accurate.

Plus she never said happy, she just said she didnt mind
and the fact that she knew that she should be sad indicates that she had mixed feeling

besides the not having a job part is only a minor part of the passage

Great, just remembered I got the exaggerated SC wrong >.< I thought it would be exaggerated, but I didn’t know what torpid was, so I thought it might have been a better fit. I hate SC, even after memorizing 600-700 words I still manage to miss 3-4.

@aag She said that if she were being strictly rational, then she should have been sad. Its only mixed feelings if she feels sad and happy at the same time, but she says “I do not feel depressed”.

Do you guys remember what other passage(s) was in the one with the graveyard. I remember i had a hard time with some of the voc on one, and not sure if it was this one or not.

yes but other definitions also state some level of happiness

and besides, even if he was content, he undoubtedly has mixed feelings

SAT100 could u update the the revised version of the compiled answers with corrections and new questions? Thx!

did you guys get the one with the beez. where there was a part it wnt like zzzzz

@hanslee Yea I’ll do that later, I’ve been sitting in front of my computer for a little too long now, I think I’m gonna go take a break.

@brother james ya there was a short passage about a boy interested in insects. Does anybody remember the qs for it? I think there was a answer about his decision maturing or something

@aag It doesn’t have to satisfy every definition. There was ambivalence in her attitude toward Mr. Alexander, but that was not the subject of the question.

Is there a concensus on Mrs. Alexander being proud and aloof? I thought that that the purpose behind her distancing herself from the tenants was because she judged them as inferior so I put judgmental. She is also snide, which word english dictionary defines as supercilious, because she puts forth effort toward distinguishing herself as superior to the tenants which is a supercilious.

can somebody please explain their reasoning

hanslee, plz tell me that was experimental. If not, that section was crazy hard/

for the photography passage, did u guys choose methodology or philosophy for the relationship between the two passages? I put methodology first but then changed to philosophy… ><!!!

P.S. did someone get “cathartic” for one of the sentence completion questions?

what were the two questions about the old farm?

@somnusc
yes

and yes, cathartic was an answer. i put philosophy, and i’m pretty sure it was right. but a lot of people still think ambivalent.

can you answer my question about “photography” passage?

use of “works” – I put “operate”

why did the guy mention “camera”? -

Why was the black guy hired?

What does black guy mean by “history”

What common thing does black photographer & passage 1 & another assume?

Difference between passage 1 and passage 2

passage 1 author and passage 2 author both acknowledges?

Proud and aloof was certainly it. I am still convinced it was contented.

@somnusc Yes at cathartic

I chose methodology
