SAT January 2012 - Critical Reading

The author of passage 2 (first person account) of the photography passage OBVIOUSLY held some ambivalence about the methodology of photography to portray emotions.

He dedicates an ENTIRE flipping paragraph to how the process of photography can be done in an attempt to misrepresent and slander the subject. He goes out of his way to mention how photography should be used wisely, not to disparage! There is NO apparent partial “I LOVE THIS EMOTION PORTRAYING PHOTOGRAPHY” about passage2.

Tl;Dr: /methodology, not philosophy

@jimmypod so do you think the answer was something about
how passage 2 author shows little reserved emotion?

"@jimmypod so do you think the answer was something about
how passage 2 author shows little reserved emotion?"

hahahaha

he said he chose methodology

can somebody please please remind me what the 2 questions were for the old farm in turkey thing

Was cathartic an sc or a cr passage answer? I don’t remember it.

You’re right about operate.

So that he can use it to solve his dissatisfaction (“dissatisfaction” was in the answer)

To show the subtleties of bigotry? Kind of forget this question.

Future events that will happen (I know the answer had “future” in it)

That people are influenced by pictures (again, kind of forget this question)

Ah, can’t remember last two. Sorry it’s been a long day. -.-

Also, do people remember what they put for one of the two Turkey farming questions where it asked something along the lines of:
“Which fact would undermine the implication made in line ___?” I put that if their wood didn’t hold up in wetlands.

@futball
it was a SC, I don’t remember the exact question though.

@msteiny1212
"1. You’re right about operate.
2. So that he can use it to solve his dissatisfaction (“dissatisfaction” was in the answer)
3. To show the subtleties of bigotry? Kind of forget this question.
4. Future events that will happen (I know the answer had “future” in it)
5. That people are influenced by pictures (again, kind of forget this question)

Ah, can’t remember last two. Sorry it’s been a long day. -.-"

RIGHT HERE EVERYONE! LOOK AT HIS ANSWERS! THEY’RE DARN RIGHT!

Did you guys have a disney paragraph? i think that was my possible experimental

@jikunykwind

It was an experimental. I heard it was difficult.

Haha, thank you. I needed that.

I know that ppl are debating about methodology/philosophy,
do you guys remember the second part of those two answers?

methodology and what?
philosophy and what?

Sc’s

Docile

Meticulous

Voluptuous

Erudite … Adroit

Prescient

Exaggerated (histrionics)
7.obdurate (stubborn girl)

Ruminate over the problem

Inclusive

Unique (Marie curie)

Quackery… Forestall

Output was diverse

Accidental… Favorable

Transcribe (journalist writing down notes)

Cathartic

And the one with the beez wasn’t? zzzz

Did the graveyard one have some ridiculous vocabulary words?

Oh was subtle evidence of something an answer?

@kylelee

Philosophy was paired with Author 2 explained it in detail
Methodology was paired with Author 2 held some caution with author 1’s position. (or something like this.)

These are just what I sort of remember. I know for certain that the option paired with philosophy was wrong. That was why I did not choose it. The second half of the answer choice was INCORRECT.

Wait, nvm, I think I completely misread the answer choices.

So for sure, the philosophy answer was incorrect?

Ya the exact quote was “subtle evidence of an attitude”

Can someone explain to me how the HELL the answer to the speaker problem is adroit speaker? The question was along the lines of:
“He was a memorable and ________ speaker, broaching many diverse topics, although some less experienced listeners mistook his methods as ________.”

I thought it was definitely fluent… evasive.
Erudite in the 2nd blank simply makes NO SENSE. Erudite means scholarly.
