SAT January 2012 - Critical Reading

What you guys think?

Was Ms. Alexander brooding/distant or proud/aloof

I put, proud and aloof

I put judgemental and snide. My reasoning was that she looked down on the tenants and didn’t want to be insulted by getting confused with one of them.

More questions from this passage; it was kind of hard.

Was that sentence foreshadowing future events?

yeah thats what I put.

yes, foreshadowing

I put proud and aloof because she never really talked or interacted with anyone she saw, and she acted proud when trying to avoid being a lowly tenant.

I don’t think the sentence was foreshadowing, since it was referring to past events, not future ones that are going to happen. I maybe wrong though. I put represented a great misfortune or something because she was at a graveyard…but I don’t know 100%

I’m trying to avoid participating in specific question discussions until much later, but I must say, having taken a version without experimental CR (I had exp Writing), I found it to be fairly easy compared to November’s. Anyone else have this experience?

For Ms. Alexander, I had something about Arrogant and something else, anyone else? Also, what did it mean when it talked about how she “fairly drank her in with her mind”? or something like that. 2 answer choices were that “she like her style” and that she “preferred to avoid her” or something like that.

I put that she liked her style

@runall
I said she was captivated by her style.

Anyone else think that sleep cycle one was a bit difficult?

NOOOO I had that but changed it because I didn’t understand why she would care at all about style.

did you guys get the black photographer and the one about traffic and the one about human clock/rhythm? was the dummy section the mystery novel one?

I put proud and aloof, forshadowing events, and captivated by her style for those three questions. Keep in mind that I’m not that good at reading (low-mid 700s).

I got 3 writing sections, I think that’s experimental

I’m trying to figure out which one I had for experimental. Out of these, which ones didn’t you guys have.

-Traffic Regulations
-Photography
-One about Alexanders (I think that one wasn’t it, since a lot of people had it.
-Sleep cycle

ok good because i legit left the whole experimental section blank lol
and i had what you had(runallday4)

traffic, photograghy, Andersons, internal time
