SAT January 2012 - Critical Reading

Lol, I left for a while, so now I have to ask… What’s “SC” stand for in this thread?=P

I don’t see how they resented the traffic rule changes because it favored the pedestrians.

SC= Sentence Completion… vocab part.

@cynosuree That’s not what the option was. it said they resented the changes because of the limitations.

oh if pedestrians weren’t included in the resentment answer, then we must be right - i hope.

Ohhh, thanks Cynosuree!(:

Hmm… I have somewhere between -3 and -5, depending on what’s right or not. Guess that could be anywhere from 700-780, right?

well… I’m just a very confused person then. LOL

I think this was experimental but anyways there was an SC about this girl admiring her grandmother to the point of ___. I put idolatry but I think you could argue jubilation too.

Also for the methodology/philosophy question, I think I put neither of those and chose one that said something about passage 1 being very positive and passage 2 having reservations. But it sounds like methodology had the same sort of answer? Can someone please clarify? Thanks

Can we have another updated key, SAT 100?

what about which rejects the implication of the Catalhuyuk Turkey farm? what was the answer to that?

Finding that they traded. @squirrel

@ Squirrel It was definitely the trading one.

what is the very worst for -9 CR? 650?

660

Hi! can someone tell me in which sentences do the following words appear?..i’m having a short term memory as I don’t remember seeing any of these words…=( thanks!
Meticulous
Inclusive
Quackery… Forestall
Cathartic

Good. At least It’ll be above a 2100… But below 2200 = not very good, so I’ll hit the books again and take this POS one more time in May.

what would a -7 to -10 in cr be, a -1 in math be, and a -2 in writing with let’s say an 11 essay be?

is there any possibliity of me getting like at least in the low 2200s…i mean really low?

Assuming you got a -8 on CR…
CR would be roughly 690
-1 in math is roughly a 790
-2 writing is a 75 not considering essay, which would probably raise it to a 770.

Which is a 2250.

Needless to say, this is a very crude estimate.

If you mean -7 ~ -10 raw score in CR, you might have a chance in getting a low 2200. However, if you mean -7 ~ -10 wrong in CR, you probably will end up with 2100’s.

The CR was pretty difficult on this, I felt. It was definitely the most difficult section. The math is never difficult for me (my only mistakes are stupid ones due to fatigue), and the grammar and essay were both pretty easy this time around.
I remember doing my first CR section (it was the 2nd for me), and thinking “this is gonna be a long test”. -_-
