SAT January 2012 - Critical Reading

For the crops one, i said that it was “know about the differing soil qualities”

i said this since the opinion that needed to be undermined was that of those thought that the possibility that they farmed far away was little

ie, we were trying to find a statement that undermined the opinion saying that “they probably did not farm far away”

thus we are looking for a statement saying “they farmed far away”

and knowing that soil quality is important since they were in a damp area and far away it was drier

The photography passage was a killer for me. If I lose my 800, it’ll definitely be attributed to that passage.

I really hope this isn’t going to be a harsh curve because the vocab wasn’t too difficult.

Right, I thought the CR was really difficult. CR -7(confirmed) but most likely -9, Math -2/-3, Writing-dunno much, probably 700. That puts me in the low 2100’s, I think. Bad.

What about the village one? Wasn’t it that they traded with people? There was one that said neighbors but I am pretty sure that was wrong because it said that the village was in the middle of the mud thing. What were the other answers to that one?

For the traffic passage, was the law in England about the five mile speed limit a landmark traffic law or an assuming historical fact?

I think the answer to the question about “cold-blood” was heartless detachment. The author had just said that he or she had a “high morale,” and so the opposite of him or her would be heartlessly detached in looking at the idea of getting a job. Because the author’s morale was high, the author was not pessimistic about looking for a job.

@000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo000ooo

It was definitely traded.

NEW QUESTION!!! Was the 4 mph law about England an “entertaining historical fact?”

That’s what I put, but my “THIS ANSWER IS OBVIOUSLY WRONG” senses were flailing at that. None of the others made sense to me though. >_>

@chac im out atm, ill update when i get home.

@chac: yes, it was an entertaining historical fact.

Yea, looking back, I think it’s landmark traffic law now…

My parents… -_-

Less than a 2300 and I’ll be retaking the test…

So far so good after reviewing these answers though…

wait… it it really entertaining historical fact??? If it was, good: I got it right, but now Landmark Traffic Law seems like a possibility…

I put landmark traffic law since it was noted as one of the earliest (if not the earliest) traffic law in England and was set at a time when automobiles first began to hit the streets. It was definitely a landmark event since it marked the beginning of traffic laws, but I was deciding between entertaining fact as well.

I know it was traded but I swear there were two answers that had the word traded in them… One said with neighbors and the other with other civilizations or villages or something…

Anyone? Please…

@SAT Thanks. I need to relieve some stress by owning noobs on Uncharted.
Also, what did you get for the “Speed Limit in England was 4 mph no faster than guy holding red flag” question? I got entertaining historical fact.

It was an entertaining historical fact. When I weighed them, it just didn’t have the sense of being a “landmark traffic law.”

@000ooo000ooo

One was TRADED with villages

One was SHARED LAND with neighbors

I gotchu!
