@ Arobins…that question is 100 % characterization of a blog reader. You cant characterize a passing stranger as an inviting distraction—that would be the blog. And seeing as how that was the only close answer choice it’s wrong. So…yeah. Y’all make this a lot harder than it should be.

What did everyone put for the one about “possibility” in passage 2 in passage 1? If I remember correctly it was a photography question and I think I had it narrowed down to either Cawkwell’s stories or something else about the expected response to his new book?

There’s confusion as to what the answer choices for the methodology/philosophy question were, but I remember them clearly.

Passage 1 described a methodology that was employed in Passage 2.

Passage 1 “described”(?) a phenomenon that was explained in Passage 2.

I think #1 fits the best, because it actually matches up what they did.

As for reservations, the girl wasn’t describing why she wouldn’t use the method. She was just showing how it could have a different impact.

^^^lol you must not have read it then because it had a whole paragraph devoted to how photographs can be used in a negative way as well.

@alargeblackman14

Well the correct answer was whichever answer choice included Passage 2’s “reservation” Whether that be philosophy/methodology, it doesn’t matter.

You are undeniably the most intemperate person I have come across on this forum.

Whatever. Stand by your own answer.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the question was a hard difficulty question. There would undeniably be a lot of debate about it.

For the biographer, you have to find opposites: forthright (concerned with details) does not oppose relevant (important to subject at hand) a biographer is not going to choose a subject about chemistry and that be good. He would be inclusive and that is good, the info would all be relevant.

BUT the second blog author said that when he finds a blog he likes, he follows it LIKE CRAZY. Thus, he would disagree that the analogy is correct, as a passing stranger passes or moves on from a person’s house. They don’t stay and pry.

I think we’re all too smart for the SAT.

Also the answer was recycling guy. That one is not even debatable in my opinion

@magentaturtle

it was the objection to his stories

Passage one- Photography is can be used as a (postive medium) for change… Passage 2- While photography can be used to change perception for good, it can also be used immorrally and to negatively distort (reservation)

Uh…okay? One paragraph explaining how photography can be bad or good depending on how you use them highly neutral plus 3 paragraphs explaining his employed technique? Regardless, you’ve missed it. GG.

Oh yeah what was the answer to the response to his new book or something? anyone remember that question?

I put not everyone agreed or something…

forthright means straightforward, honest, direct, candid, blunt, no-nonsense

As in they should be as direct and straightforward as possible, making sure to not discern between things, but to cover everything.

@alargeblackman14 preach.

alargeblackman, I’m pretty sure the author stated something along the lines of “I do not want to use the camera without integrity to distort”… that is not really neutral.

lol there weren’t three paragraphs talking about how you use them. all it was was a guy hiring that person and some dialogue that filled up about 2 paragraphs.

A methodology is like a series of steps. Passage 1 was not a series of steps. It was a philosophy. Passage one pretty much said that a photographer must be aware of the world/society. That is by no means a methodology. Passage 2 employs that philosophy.

Lol…regardless of what one paragraph in a long passage said you have to be a lot more choosy when it comes to those last few questions.

@ ARobins…once again. An “Inviting Distraction” cannot be a blog reader bro…sorry.

I’m not sure if you’re talking about the same question 000ooo000ooo

This question was the second to last question for that passage. The “possibility” in passage 2 was that even though pictures may be true, people might not necessarily accept them as true. So the question was asking what best represented that “possibility”

The two choices were Cawkwell’s initial book, or the expected response to cawkwell’s soon to be published book.

Can someone specify what exactly happened in passage 2… all I remember was that the guy got hired, he talked about how he researched, and then said he doesn’t want to use the camera to distort and immorally…
