SAT Math, in general

I know how everyone says "practice, practice, practice" but is that really the best way with the math section to improve? (I'm just asking, I don't know.)

What happens to me in every math section on the SAT is, I am breezing through the first 15-16 questions or so (maybe missing 1 or 2 from stupid mistakes) but then I always panic on the last, difficult questions. Mainly it's the algebraic word problems.

So does anyone have any good advice on that? I've browsed through the forum a bit but can't really get any solid words of wisdom (as opposed to Writing and CR which has some really helpful info.)

By the way, I did pretty terrible on the December SAT in Math (570 :( )

hey man, i feel ur pain, i had same problem

i went from a 630 to a 720

first, make sure you know all your basics. Barrons does an excellent job at giving u mathematical basics

second, technique is crucial, the SAT is an endurace test one u kno all ur basics

third- its good that u breeze through, but remeber, all the questions require you to think logically, which is what they test. SO whenever u get stuck, come down, and break it down simply to see what is going on in problem

PS. make a commitment to take each section 1 at a time
