I have one College Board released practice test left. When I finished the first test, it was far easier than anticipated and that scares me. Is there truly little to no probability on the test? Can you expect around the same test scores because these tests were said to be similar in difficulty? I’m taking the test in two days. I’m fully paranoid. Are the paper tests similar to the actual college board tests or is that a myth?
I’m taking it the 26th!
My D18 took it in January 2017. She thought the old tests were good preparation material for the actual test and similar difficulty. AFAIK, she didn’t use any of the other books, like Barron’s. Also, she had one probability problem that I specifically remember discussing with her. That may have been the only one, but if it wasn’t, then there wasn’t more than a couple.
Good luck.
@sushiritto How did she do?
I scored a 770 on the College Board released practice test. Should I be expecting around the same scores?
After many hours (10+) of preparation, she thought the test was easy.
That’s somewhat of a relief, but I doubt that will be my case.
I’m taking it in two days as well. Here’s hoping for a good score.
I heard the CB official tests are a tad bit easier so that they serve as a confidence booster before the test. I’m doing Barron’s right now, so the opposite of that.
Im taking it tmrw too and I took the barrons, untimed I’m scoring anywhere from 660-610 but barrons is supposed to be much harder right?
That’s what i heard, avoid making silly mistakes and you should be good
If you’re shooting for an 800, then you just need to score 44/50, including omissions (1 point off) and wrong answers (0.25 point off). IIRC, my D omitted 1 maybe 2 and felt very comfortable with almost every other question, but for another 1 or 2. I’m sure you’ll know about or roughly what you’ll score will be when you leave the testing center too.
I skipped four questions and i screwed up on four or less than that… what would my highest potential score be?
that would mean you got a 41/50… You can expect a solid score of 760 -780
I skipped four and maybe missed 2. Any ideas on the curve for me?
@sushiritto What did your daughter do to prep?
Edit: Oh I see you mentioned she just took official exams? Where did she get them? And how did she study?
@planner03 there are two released practice tests for Math Level II inThe Official SAT Subject Tests in Mathematics Levels 1 & 2 Study Guide. I found them to be very similar to the real test I took.
From what I know, you will probably score significantly higher than what you scored on the Barron’s test. Barron’s adds a bunch of detailed info that I think wasn’t really necessary. If you succeeded in pre-calc, the Math II generally should be fine. Also in terms of the curve, it really depends on the difficulty of the test. The test I took was easier-also easy to make mistakes-so the curve was basically nothing and my friends who took it a month later got 800 even by skipping 6 questions and possibly getting more wrong.
