SAT May 2009 Math

oh how about the one with the sum of the first ten positive integers…then what is the sum of the first twenty or something?

might be experimental though, i don’t know why i only remember ones from the exp section garrr.

^ exp. period.

^ that was prob experimental

I think the hardest was the quadratics one. There was not really any math to it, it was just some random divide by two and see if it is perfect square lol.

i thought the hardest one was the f(a) = f(b) i was overthinking it. blehhh

but other than that the quadratic one was hard, too. i didn’t really know how to do it, and only picked 12 because i noticed that all the rest had perfect squares when divided by 2 haa.

and the physics, calculus, and english one took me so long, i just sat there trying to think about it for sooo long.
i think i picked the right answer at least.

and can there be more than one math exp. section? because i had exp and i don’t recall that question about departments and females…

The one I didn’t get was the (y-1) (x+1) - or something like that.

But looking back, the quadratics one is probably harder than that one was. I just made a stupid mistake.

so, was the one that I just posted experimental?

ya i totally just guessed C for the hell of it on that one

that’s so straight. I sucked balls in that section and I was hoping it was the experimental one and it is! Other than that so far I have a -1

i had -1 until i found out that i ****ed up the beads question really bad

I have -1 so far but i cannot remember if i put 19 or 361 for the tin/copper thingy.

edit: maybe different tests have this question but asked for the other value?

@IlMauriuolo: Definitely experimental.

& you can’t have two experimental sections…

Gaoez, I read that question like 3 times. It asked for tin, which was 19. I doubt they would rephrase the question for other tests.

no i meant can there be two different math exp sections like one person get this exp section and another person got a different math experimental section?

@snargaluff: Yes. There’s multiple experimental sections.

does anyone recall the question about the average weight of differennt animal in a zoo where you had to find the number of rhyno? I don’t remember the values but I believe the answer was either 4 or 5

^ Experimental.

does anyone remember the problem with x^2=81 and y^2=16 and you had to find k when x^2-y^2=(something)/k

Did anyone get 1600 for a mean (average) question in the early part of one of the sections with the pictograph? I think I might have made a careless error. T-T

^ 1600 was the correct answer

ok just to make sure that the experimental question was the one that I think: does anyone recall a question with a sphere other than the one to find the greatest distance between two points on the sphere which result was of course the diameter?
