SAT October 2013 - International Students

i chose c
+01234567

do you guys remember what number the experimental (disney) section was? or did we all have different?

i remembered it was sec6

:/
thank you!

I remember some questions from writing:

20-something: It goes something like: Blahblahblah Western countries had an [excess] of bananas … tropical countries to which they were native

^answer is [excess]. ALMOST got me there

20-something again: blahblahblah … [resistance to] diseases.

^I put D, thinking that resistance against is more proper, but I’m not sure.

For 28, I put E. I only remember that it was something like “both ___ and ____'s science fair projects [had been given (?)] the award…”

Then there was this question in the sentence completion part about tigers being reintroduced to a park. I put A, which I think was “began to be.” The only other reasonable choices were “begun to be” and another one like it.

If you guys could remember any more, or think you’ve got the correct answer to these, please step up!

I too chose excess as the wrong answer

for me, both resistance to & resistance against sounds right…
but i am not sure

any more thoughts or questions from anyone?

There was a SC question maybe the first one which has the answer ‘imply’
and maybe another which has ‘condemn’

resistance to is actually correct. Probably no error is the answer.

There was a math question …which has the answer ‘3200’ area? I’m not sure

And… what did you guys put for Diner vs Collection one? at the classical music thingy :frowning: Still I found no consensus

I put diner for the classical music one! Other threads seem to have agreed on that more or less, although the other choice was tempting.

:'D It’s definitely Diner! well few people who put their replies after the consensus seem to chose mostly the collection one…but what a relief!

And there was other question which had cerebral and emotion…not sure where that came from…

Any one remember the question of 3x+2y=34, what is one possible value of x+y?

I let x=2 and y=14, so x+y=16, is that right? or did I forget something?

So I took the SAT yesterday and got the prompt "Is too much info about public figures distracts us from main issues ???

i wrote tht people ( in general ) must consider the public opinion and tht public opinion don’t distract us from choosing the write thing ? is wht i wrote relevant to the assignment ??? reply soon plz

@drakeheor, I believe there’s a range of possible answers. for ex: x=4 and y=11 is also possible, after all that’s the grid in part right??

@ahmed, I think it’s a bit off, but it still depends on your examples and development. I used how Obama was being bombed with accusations of being a terrorist form the middle east, of being a communist, etc. and Soviet suppression of media in the 80’s to show that too much info does distract us

@gloogle i wrote about hitler’s invasion on ussr that he invaded it with out asking for the opinions of his generals
and the second on was about tht a man asked my uncle to borrow him some money and my uncle did with asking about this guy so my uncle lost my money ? ? ? ? can u guess what would be my score ? ?

@ahmed Look, I can’t say for certain what your score will be, but maybe you could judge for yourself by searching for some previously scored essays.

Don’t expect to get very high though. Maybe 6 tops if you managed to present it in a passable manner?

Hey guys, does anyone remember the answer to these: (our international test)

Most of the information of the campsite’s brochure was relevant and essential, but most of its content is …
I remember vacillating between ‘ineligible’ and ‘fundamental’, don’t remember other choices though.

The Math question about with w,y, z. The sum of w + y and w+z was given as I remember, then the value of w is asked ???
Was the answer 40 ?

Math: the difference between the 8th and 7th term? Given the difference between the 6th and 5th was 5, and each term after the first is 5 less than twice the preceding term.
Was the answer 20?

4.Can this Math section be the Experimental, I don’t remember whether it was 20mins or 25mins.
The last question is: A scatter plot was given, with the formula of the child’s height based on the height of the mother and father. The height of the mother was asked.
By the way, what is the answer to this?

Thanks in advance guys ! I really think we should keep this thread more alive since the other official thread mostly discusses the US test.

I believe the question was SOME of the information of the campsite’s brochure was relevant and essential, but most of its content is … and the answer was something like unnecessary or a synonym of it, cant recall completely

It doesnt make grammatical sense to have BUT after the first phrase if the second phrase also pertains to most of the info. The question must have been SOME or MUCH

This question i skipped on test day, the question asked for the value of Z, which after solving it this morning I believe to be 50

I guessed 20 on test day and after solving it this morning I got 20 as well, the 5th term is 10, 6th is 15, 7th is 25, 8th is 45.

No idea, I had CR experimental

Thanks @ thesoxpride10 for replying this quick.
