Update…my daughter raised her math score 100 points to 600, not high by some standards, but a 100 point gain for her. I am very proud of her, I know how hard she worked at it and trying to pace herself. She raised her writing to 710 and CR to 640, 11 essay. I realize these aren’t “top school” scores, but it makes the match/safety schools less optional for her. I am so proud of her because she didn’t get discouraged and kept trying. I think a book about raising your SAT by a tutor helped her with tricks to get her score up.
Again, by CC standards, not high, but not being a good test taker I am proud of her and grateful that she has a little more options.

Way to go, Debrunsdaughter!!

Debruns, wow!! I hope that your daughter is proud of herself!

Thank you, she is. No matter what, I know she will always be a hard worker and keep plugging. Everyone’s “best” is different, but I’m proud of her effort and not giving up when it was so hard for her.

Hooray for Debruns D! My D also was able to raise her score 140 points this time around, which made her very, very happy.

I hate that part of her self-concept comes from this stoopid test.

good work!

I don’t know if Wittenberg is on any of your lists, but it’s a very nice little school–completely test optional-- and it does give generous merit money without test scores.

Great job! And why not apply to a couple of top schools?
