In lots of schools, they require test scores be received by Jan. 1. Is this date a time when the school has to receive the scores, or the time for students make request from collegeboard or ACT placce?

I want to apply for a few more schools today as today is January 1. Some of the schools said they want to have scores received by this day. Not sure it is the time for requesting the official scores.

some schools (like Dartmouth) accept the score that you self report but you still need to send in the official scores to confirm before you can enroll.

Yes I am planning to send all official scores. It is just the timing. I have self reported my scores in Commonapp. Will schools expect the official receipts of the testing scores by the deadlines such as today? or they merely want students to make request today? I know some of them will accept January SAT test scores even though they said they expect the scores to be received by the application deadlines. I don’t want to make another application and pay application fees when my official test scores wont make it to their office today.

I’m pretty sure you’ll be fine if the official report doesn’t get there for a couple more days, especially if they’ll accept January SAT scores.
