Which do you all prefer?

I'm taking both... I'm going to take the SAT for the second time on May 6th... and I plan to take the ACT in October.

none. lol
But do remember that most schools use SATs

yeah. i've already taken the SAT. I was just wondering if ppl thought the ACT was better/worse than SATs. anyone else?

ACT's questions were easier, but i didn't like how the sections were so long...
i think i actually may have done better on my SATs even though most people say they do better on their ACTs

i did better on ACTs (35/36 overall) than on SAT, 2140.

didn't study for ACT at ALL, cept the SAT studying I did....... took the ACT one week after the PSAT, which I took one week after the SAT.

3 weeks, 3 tests.

First I said "Oh gotta prepare for the SAT.." but then I saw the ACT book and the english part was a piece of cake. But then I saw the Science part where you gotta be fast at analyzing graphs and reading scientific passages blah blah... so then I returned to the SAT.

Both. I'll use what I do best in.

screw them all i hate both of them, make my life such a mess!
screw SAT, screw collegeboard, screw ACT, screw ETS, screw them'all

I prefer the sat...mainly because of the stupid science section on the act...man...normally im pretty good at science...but seriously....restrictive enzymes?...bleh...

same here too. Science crap's so confusing.

I took both the SAT, ACT and three SAT II's.

I took the SAT two times and the ACT once and scored incredibly higher on the ACT. On the ACT you are not penalized for any wrong answers. The science section is not hard AT all. Science is personally my least favorites subject in high school, but this test does not test your science knowledge, but more of your ability to interpret graphs and charts. I scored just as high on my science section as I did on my english and math sections.

I would recommend taking both and seeing which one you score higher on then pursue that test more.

-also, I didn't study for the ACT, but I did for the SAT. I found the SAT's english section much harder than the ACT's

Well, the general consensus is that ACTs are low level. Many people easily score high on the ACTs on the west and east coast since its mostly people in the midwest or deep south that take this test. The grammar is terribly low level and the science is only about 8th grade level. Many people that I would consider average at my school can easily score over 33 on the ACT even though they will STRUGGLE to get Bs and over 2000 on the SAT. I'm pretty sure colleges realize that the ACT is somewhat of a soft option despite what all these ACT testtakeers claim, that the ACT is equivalent to the SAT. The only viable excuse not the take the SAT is if there are not many SAT centers in your area.
