Title says it all. I have heard some people say "Oh, the SAT is way easier" while others claim that the ACT was their saving grace after getting back their awful SAT scores.

I'll start: I prefer the ACT because it is not only a shorter test, but is more comprehensive IMO because there are more than three sections. Then again, I might have a bias because I scored way better on the ACT than the SAT.

I only took the ACT, and I only took it once, so I have nothing to compare it with. I thought finishing each section in the allotted time was quite challenging and I have heard that the SAT is a bit more time-friendly.

i kept scoring in like the 1800s on the sats and i took the act once and without any formal studying, i got a composite score of 30! unfortunately, i took the act too late (dec. of senior yr) so i couldn't take it again to possibly obtain a higher score :(

nonetheless, i HIGHLY advise EVERYONE to take the act at once!! cuz you never know...:)

i highly dislike the science section of the ACT. it is NOT science at all. just reading charts and graphs. plus, you are more pressed for time on the last two sections of the ACT.

ACT just cuz...I'm good with like grammar and english was just that basically and the math was a lot easier in my opinion..and uhh...the only thing tha treally screwed me up wasthe science timing

I have been trying to decide which of the two to take, and I believe I am leaning in the direction of the SAT. I have a strong foundation on grammar/english, and I like the fact that the SAT offers formulas in the math section while the ACT does not. I generally have no trouble at all getting top scores in math if the formula is presented to me, I just have difficulties retaining the formulas in my mind-especially volume and area.

Easy stuff, I know, but I just don't work with these equations on a daily basis! :)

ACT, I just prefer the way the English questions are worded and that the Mathematics are at a higher level. (Plus, it has a science section too!)

ACT
math doesn't try to trick you- it asks you for knowledge
no vocab (words that don't show up in every day usage and texts are useless!)
tests your logic (science reasoning). I believe people need common sense

my s took both the act and the sat. intereting to note that when reviewing college summaries to track admission process, colleges that had received both his act and sat scores only recorded the highest, in his case the act.

I took the SAT practice test, and it almost killed me :(
Is it better to get 2300+ on the SAT or 30+ on the ACT?
What is the correlation between the SAT and ACT scores?
