SAT physics prep: should one self study or take some online class?

I need some advice for how to prepare for SAT physics subject tests. I understand most people self study for the test if physics is not taught yet at school. Questions for you guys are:

  1. If one is to self study, should Barron's, PR etc enough for someone who's not exposed to physics before (except some simple concept taught in MS science class)? A book like Giancoli seems way too much work just for getting a decent score on SAT subject
  2. How about any online physics class for HS that's NOT AP oriented. Does any even exist?

Basically the objective is just to be able to score well on physics SAT, nothing more than that. I am not looking for AP physics 1 level classes/material (it was brutal this year, isn’t it?)

@Amherst5168 It is possible to self study, but it all depends on your diligence.

  1. Barron's is excellent for Physics. It does cover rotational motion, which is not on the test. Also, the practice tests are slightly harder than the real thing.
  2. There are online high school physics classes. They could provide a background, but specifics usually need to be self studied.

Feel free to ask me any more questions!!
