The first time I took the SAT I got 800 in CR and Math and a 680 in writing. I'm taking it again in November. I'm just prepping for writing and not the other sections. Math I dont need to prep for so its ok. Critical Reading is what I'm confused about. I still dont know how I managed to get a 800 in the first place and I know it wont happen again. I am applying for an engineering major. Could you guys estimate how much lower I can get in CR this time without the admissions officers thinking twice about my CR score !?
Is getting like a 700 on CR this time ok? or higher/lower?
P.S : I'm an international student

My SAT scores were awful the first time I took the test. 700M, 660R, 600W. I retook and got 780R, 760W, 730M. I suggest you NOT retake. Instead, look to prove yourself in math with an SAT 2 Math 2 and 1 800. This, and a good essay will compensate for your SAT.

In fact, that’s exactly what Im doing because my math score was a ****ty 730 haha.

I dont know why it happens , but I just cant seem to get an 800 in SAT 2 Math ! In school I do really well and stuff, god knows. I’m happy about my essays and stuff. so thats ok. I have already registered for it so might give it anyway ! But should I care about my CR scores at all this time or not? I’m confused !

If you really want to take that risk, its up to you. Statistics probably point to a decrease in the other sections so if I were you, I wouldnt retake.

ok , thanks for your opinion!
