SAT score choice policy

If a college requires all SAT scores or ACT scores, can I just submit the ACT with SAT subject tests and not have to send my SAT?

What college and what exactly does the admissions page say?

I know of at least one school that requires all scores for the SAT but that does not extend to Subject Tests, for which you can use score choice.

@RichInPitt I’m looking at Carnegie Mellon and I don’t see anything on their website about score choice or all score policy for SAT Subject tests.

Carnegie Mellon requires either all SAT our all ACT scores, or all of both if you decide to send both, and you can choose which subject test scores to send. You can thus just send your ACT tests and subject tests, and withheld SAT tests. The only college in the world that actually requires all subject test scores is Georgetown.

Be aware, however, that withholding any test scores through the testing agency (ACT or College Board) does not necessarily mean the college will not learn of the withheld test scores. Many high schools put all your scores on the official high school transcript sent to colleges and thus you need to check what yours does to determine if you can successfully withhold any scores.

I thought it was CMU and that’s who I was referring to from memory. I’m certain I’ve seen it explicitly stated but can’t find it now. They seem to have recently revamped their testing policy pages. It does explicitly refer to the main SAT when talking about requiring all scores, and Subject Tests are referred to separately.

So I believe what is discussed above is still accurate, but you can contact them to confirm.

(Fwiw, their policy page is still a confusing mess, IMO.)
