SAT score importance

Really the only thing keeping me out of Vassar at this point is my SAT score, an 1890, but everything else is great and I had an AMAZING interview. Do SATs matter as much as everything else?

uhm… well i think grades are def the most important thing but after that i would say they are fairly important, when i looked at the stats from other students i was intimidated though.
i also heard however, from someone who works there, that rank was reallllly important! lol, i dont think im helping you much here but i wouldnt say to lose hope!

thanks! I’m only worried because like you said everyone else’s scores are pretty intimidating.

I got 540 for critical reading, 740 for math.
is it too hard to get into Vassar with that critical reading score?

My SAT scores were ’ 800 Reading, 630 Writing and 460 Math. I got into Vassar plus 8 other top ten schools. SATs are not everything. However, SAT II is important and my scores were pretty good there. In the end, it comes down to how you present yourself in interviews/essays/Recs more than anything.

thanks for sharing, sonjanicky  So I guess your essays and your recommendations must be very good then…
anw, it’s because i usually read from the websites of those schools the SAT range (25th-75th percentile) and i realize that my CR score is much much lower than the 25th percentile. So I was kinda afraid. I also apply for FA so I really feel uncertain about my SAT score…

I had a SATI CR 670 M 630 W590
SATII Lit 650 Math II 600 Span 550
