SAT score is wrong and I'm freaking out?

My last SAT score (the first time I took it) was 1540 (760 R/W, 780 M).

I just received my November SAT score and it’s a 1480?! I got 770 for R/W (as expected), but a 710 for M! I’ve taken many practice tests before the November SAT and scored 800 on the math sections, and I was SO sure that I got an 800 on the actual test! I was most confident in that section.

Because I was so confident in my SAT score, I signed up all my colleges to receive my score report with the Nov SAT score (like an idiot). Now I don’t know what to do. Is there any way I can stop CollegeBoard from sending the score reports? I’ve been so worried the whole day and feel like crying. My early decision Yale application was absolutely perfect, and now I feel like I messed things up by trying to improve my chances just a tiny bit.

I’m going to send the score verification form through overnight mail, but I hope my score will be fixed (if at all) in less than the proposed 5 weeks.

The drama does not help. It’s not that the SAT score was wrong (maybe it was, but probably not), but that you scored lower than expected. It happens.

Nope. They’ve been sent.

Regardless. relax. Yale will look at your best scores. The 1540 by itself was excellent - congrats on that. Good luck.

@skieurope Thank you.

Did not mean to be dramatic, but the 710 hit me pretty hard. Definitely wasn’t expecting that score in the slightest.

But thank you for the straightforward message. I needed that.
