SAT score-plateau, does it exist?

I'm a current junior. I already improved my sophomore-PSAT of 154 to a junior-PSAT of 170, and I got a 1770 on my January SAT. Is it worth it/possible to improve my score by June to a 1900+ and by October to a 2000+...? If so, how?

At your current state, take a practice SAT test (found in any study guide, or online), and look at your current strengths and weaknesses, and work on your weaknesses.

Try using different strategies, and seeing what works best for you. My english teacher, for example had us create our own SAT questions every week. This gives you an idea of how the questions work: if you know how to write the test, you know how to take the test/

I raised my score 370 points just by taking a lot of practice tests and reading through prep books.

I like to think it doesn’t.

Don’t believe in it. You can do it; just look on this forum and you’ll see people who’ve risen like 400+ points

I went from an 1890 on my first practice test (very end of sophomore year) to a 2250 on the actual SAT (middle of junior year). A gain in 360 points in less than a year, with most of the work coming between October and January. A 2000+ for you is entirely possible.
What I did was a lot of practice tests, basically. Before you start doing that stuff, make sure you know all of the math/grammar rules, and look up some potential strategies to the test. Mess around with different strategies on your practice tests until you find what works for you. If it doesn’t, no biggie, only a practice test.
I also did a practice test every weekend from Christmas break until the end of January (when my test date was). That’s like 4/5 tests.
Basically, if you’re willing to work, you can push your score up a lot.

Thanks guys!!! Your responses have been enlightening, encouraging and inspirational. Now time to get to work!

hey, i went from 140 freshman PSAT to 176 junior PSAT to 2160 junior SAT. You’re the only thing stopping yourself from hitting that score buddy…

yeah i think sat scores plateau after 2400 - my friend’s a genius and he got a 2400 and he got a 2400 the second and 3rd time he took it, his scores never got any higher :(

not really…

I got a 1770, threw my hands up in the air and never took the SAT again.
