So i'm a junior and got a 1600 on the sats. I was expecting better through me studying but that didnt work out so well, probably because i never timed myself and i only studied a certain portion. In any event, if i study and work really hard over the summer, and or take sat prep classes like the princeton review, can i get my score up to 2000-2300 ? I know it sounds like a lot of work but is it POSSIBLE?

I don’t know why people keep asking this question and don’t just start studying, aiming for top score, no matter if you only want 2100. Just get to know the test, study your weak parts and it will increase in no time.

im sorry, just got discouraged, but if its possible, i will do my best.

Send me a message later and I’ll explain what I did and the material I used. My score has been delayed but I suspect a 800-900 score increase from my test last year. And I only did practice tests the last month. I read before that. Encourage yourself!

Okay Thanks i did Anyone else out there to give a little advice or encouragement?

Well, you can definitely do it. I got a 165 on the PSAT during my sophomore year and scored a 1630 on my first official SAT practice test at the beginning of my junior year. I studied a lot and got a 193 on the PSAT during my junior year and a 2010 on the January SAT. Now I am up into the high 2100s and low 2200s in my practice tests in preparation for the June 2nd SAT.

thanks. Anyone else ?

you could…
i went from an 1800 to a 2220 in 1 year, if that gives you hope

lmao, i have 4 months xD still possible?

It’s definitely possible. My friend went from a 1700 to a 2350. Here’s what he did:
Writing:1. Read Silverturtle’s Grammar Guide (definitely take notes, since it’s very comprehensive). 2.Read Sparknotes’ Seven Deadly Screw-ups.3. Take practice tests.

Critical Reading: 1Read Direct Hits Volumes 1 and 2. 2Read Noitaraperp’s Critical reading guide. 3Take Practice tests.

Math: 1 Read Gruber’s SAT Math Workbook. 2 Take Practice Tests.

Oh and he also told me to only practice from the Blue Book. Third party sources are apparently unreliable.

well yes. because my 1800–>2080 in a year was with absolutely no preparation. and then with preparation for 2 months it was 2080–>2220

the higher your score gets the harder it is to raise it
