hey ppl
i hav a question
the first time i took the SAT i got a 1410( 670 v 740 m)
next time i gotta 1480( 680 v 800 m)
and finally this december i got a 1470 (710 v 760 m)
well so i sent my scores to colleges b4 the december test
do u guys think that i should send my december scores?
coz my score went down 10 points anyway…

Most schools compile your best math and verbal scores. You got a 1510. DEFINITELY send them the scores.

r u sure......dont they average it out if u take it 3 times..?

no, they dont average it out

There are many schools that consider your composite score, formed from your best individual test scores. Since your verbal improved, you should submit the third SAT to colleges.

awesome....thanks a lot ppl.....i jus sent them to my 19 colleges!

19 is a lot of colleges to be applying to. . .

i know but i guess im jus too greedy...i cant give up on a college no matter wut i do

holy crap. My parents were freaking out at the cost of applying to 6 colleges.

Really! Now I wonder if a lot of these high SAT scores reported on this board are composites. The UW (U. Washington) doesn't combine the scores, which is the only legit way to do it. In fact, if it were in my power, the test could not be taken more than twice and the best overall score counts. Also; the weighted grade stuff is nonsense.

.........19 schools. Sending scores to 19 schools set you back $133. Add that to application fees, and it's incredibly ridiculous.

mmboys07-

I completely disagree about weighted grades. I'm sick of kids who take easy classes being valedictorians. It totally destroys the integrity of ranking.

You must mean $1,330!

Personally, I like the way my school does GPA and class rank. GPA is non-weighted, but class rank is weighted. In my opinion it makes sense that the valedictorian would be the student doing the best in the hardest classes.

lol cmon my parents can pay that much.....coz they really hav no idea how college apps work
and they wont be paying for my college anyway.......unless i can talk them into it

Uh... they're paying for your college. Financial aid is determined based on THEIR income and THEIR assets. So, you'd be set back a couple of tens of thousands of dollars if you end up taking loans for college. That is, unless you have filed the necessary material to be considered legally independent from any parents or guardians.

i know im screwed......thx for clearin that up pebbles
