Recently, October SAT Scores were released, and to my surprise,I got only 1390 where I expected to bag 1550 at the least. I got 790 Maths and 600 Reading. I seriously think they might have messed up my Critical Reading section. In my practice tests, I scored around 36 on 40. Does Score Verification make sense?
Can anyone confirm, to what extent are these services worth spending those extra dollars? What is the success rate?
I’m in the same predicament. DS took all the practice tests etc, his math score on the 10/1 SAT was right in line with the practice tests but the CR+W were well below the range he scored on any of the practice tests. I ordered the QAS so he can review his answers to see if any scoring errors were made. After reviewing the QAS, if he believes there was an error, I’ll proceed with ordering the multiple choice score verification service. The only problem with this route is you are looking at months, between the time you get the QAS and results from MC verification, to get your results. Therefore, he’s’ probably going to retake on 12/3. He’ll most likely have his scores from the 12/3 test back before any verified scores from the 10/1 test.
@59lespaul I am considering SCEA. Will this service make any sense to me, considering all colleges I apply to, have an average of 1560 on SAT.
It depends, if you order QAS and look over your test and you are convinced there was a scoring error than yes. If you order QAS and your test was scored correctly, than no. You have up to 5 months to order verification after the test. You could take 12/3 SAT and have your scores well before the 5 month deadline. If you achieve your target on 12/3, you can investigate your 10/1 score further to see and rectify any potential error.
