The first time i took it, i got a 1560.
The second time, i got a 1490.
I don't understand how i went down. But I am taking it again in Oct.
How can i improve my score to at least a 1700, and avoid scoring lower again.

I tell this to everyone: IF YOU HAVE NOT BOUGHT THE COLLEGEBOARD SAT PREP BLUE BOOK, STOP POSTING ON THESE THREADS AND ORDER THE DANG THING.

It is simply hands down, the best study tool out there for those looking to do decent.

The book is designed to get you at least up to that 1800 level, if you are already not there.

First time I took the SAT, in march, I got an 1820. Just took it again in June, after doing all the practice tests in the blue book, and I got a 2100. I even got an 800 on the writing.

I have no doubt that increase is because of the Collegeboard blue book 100%.

Buy the book, take the practice tests, then come back here. The blue book will get you at least a 1700 - then you can use other, more specialized books to increase your score in other sections.

Get the book, or I have no pity for you.

I have used the blue book and practice tests. But I think i need to better understand the problems. What book shows you what to look for, such as in the sentence correction area. And focuses on what type of math problems show up and how to answer them correctly. If I can master these things, I believe I can do well.

hello friend

My friend has a similar issue, and i was told on this site that it is best to use these

And i recommend buying Gruber’s Math SAT Workbook and Barron’s 2011 2400 SAT

College Board Blue Book. Hands down. Took me from a 2020 to a 2340.

I recommend you to take the ACT, although it is a different test, it might be easier for you. Because no matter how many times you take, you can’t improve your score by like 400. It means that you either lack in comprehension or math. Now can I ask you a question? Which section you scored the lowest?

So try taking ACT and see how well you do and then go from there. PM if you need any help or have any question.

No offense but you sound like an a-hole when you comment that in a thread like this with such a remark.

lol ^ he was trying to show how the book improved his score. He probably didn’t mean to showcase his score.

These are the scores…

How about your essays? and MC for writing?

9 on the essay, for the first test. And 8 on the essay for the second test.
52 for MC, first time. And 47 for MC the second test.

March:
Writing **730/b
June: [after studying for the essay extensively]
Writing **710/b

The Writing section is really what is preventing me from attaining the 2270-2320 range, and my problem seems to be that I always get 2 multiple choice questions wrong, and I suck at the Essay?

What is a sure-fire way to get a 10 on the essay?

For the essay, I’m not really an expert I got 10s two times in a row.

But what I did for the 10 was have a good intro, 2 examples, and a conclusion. Pretty much you need a strong thesis and well developed paragraphs. A lot of it has to do with flow. and I do think that writing 2 full pages helps.

I think what prevented me from getting 12 was vocab. I’ve heard from other people here that if you include SAT vocab words your score will go up.

1st- 500 writing
last- 800 writing. mc80, essay 10

^ your post really doesn’t contribute to anything in the thread…it’s just you bragging or showboating off your scores.

that, OR giving hope to ppl that’s its possible to improve a crazy amount with perserverence and motivation.
