SAT score

I took my SAT for the first time and got a 1560?.. Is this a good starting point?

Sure, it’s a starting point, but you will need to study for the next test, and plan on possibly taking it two more times. Keep in mind that UF will superscore your test scores. They will keep the highest score from each section from each test.

For example:

First test: MR: 550: CR: 490 Wr: 520 = 1560
Second Test MR: 520: CR: 570 WR: 510 = 1600

You’re final score would be MR: 550, CR: 570 and WR 520 = 1640 They would keep your MR and WR scores from the first test, but take your CR score from the second.

For this reason it’s worth taking it a few times. The latest test you can take (as a senior), for it to be considered by UF is in late November/early December (UF has to have your test scores by the end of December, even though your app is due Nov 1st). Try to study for it over this summer and good luck!
