I achieved 2030 last year (620 CR, 700 M, 710 R) and still have one more opportunity to take it in the fall though I’m not really sure if it’d be worth it. It’d be 50 dollars out of my own pocket and the current score is already within the median; should I focus on studying more for it?
In-state student? I wouldn’t. You “may” want to take it again if you’re interested in the honors program. Otherwise your scores are fine. Your time would be better spent getting a part time job (and adding that to your application) or some other EC in the fall.
Yep in-state, I’ve heard that UF honors isn’t much of a difference as with other FL honor programs since the school is already considered pretty rigorous.
Another quick question, I scored 29 on the ACT; would it be better to submit that or the 2030?
A 29 maps out to about a 1940 or so. Go with the SAT score. It also will not hurt to submit both, UF will use the highest score.
If you not in the top 25% of your target school, I would take it over.
I will see, I’m sure I can improve the 620 to at least 700. Their median is 1810-2060. All I have to do is really get 30 more points in CR. I’m just torn because I’m not sure if that will make the difference.
I agree with Gator88NE. I would focus on building up your resume and extracurriculars to make yourself a more well-rounded student! Grades are obviously very important but so is the rest of your application.
