SAT score

I did my SAT Reasoning Test in October, and I got a score of 2070... is that good? What are my chances of admission into colleges like UPenn and Cornell? Or, is that asking for too much? :(

eh i got a 2070 too =]]
i dont know,i think 2070 is way too low =S

apply to one of 'em!

hey dudes, how much do you think is high enough to consider applying to Cornell or Upenn?

2100...I was chatting with this columbia student....he had 2070!

To Flibb:
So, is 2070 ok for an Ivy League school (except Princeton and Harvard of course)?
I'll give you a breakdown
CR = 650
Math = 620 (:( sad about this one coz it's usually my strongest)
Writing = 800 (:)) yayness!
Plus, I'm going to do my French w/Listening test and Math Level 1 in Novemeber...

I would say 2150-2200 is a good benchmark for applying to an Ivy League school. Obviously no one's guaranteed acceptance, but 2200 or so is a good starting point.

Well I cannot retake my SAT again.. If I get a high score on my Math Level 1 Test and French w/Listening test would that offset my relatively low SAT score? Also, since I'm applying to the College of Architecture, Art and Planning in Cornell U, the portfolio is more important in admission decisions, or so I've read... Is this true?

2070 is a good score, but I don't think it's middle 50% for those schools. Your GPA/ECs/essays need to carry you. Still, apply!

The portfolio really is important, but then do concentrate a lot on the app. A bad essay might as well be a downer.

Retaking the SAT will just increase your chances. But then if you say you can't take it, it doesn't mean you don't stand a chance!

Have you tried the ACT? Maybe it'd be better suited to you?

well, you don't have an amazing chance with those scores (obviously) but by no means rule them out.
I got a 2100, and I'm applying to both.
My score of 2100 puts me at about slightly below the middle 50th percentile for both, so you should be somewhere around there too.

highopes:No, I haven't tried the ACT, and it's not available on this side of the world...But, I'm hoping to get a high score on my SAT Subject Tests crosses fingers.

Flare12345neo: My math and CR scores are slightly below, but my writing's above the middle 50th percentile.. Anyhoo, are you up for a chat on msn? (because I just need some help with college things)
