Transfer student. Great GPA with good extra cc's and wall street experience but my high school grades were bad - with a 1530 SAT. I'm thinking about taking the SAT's this time for real.

Suggestions on how to get reacclimatized? What is the ballpark for Cornell SAT scores?

ohhh… srry but that is too low, even for other state colleges, assuming it is out of 2400. 2200 will give you a good shot. so take the S.A.T one more time.
PS take the ACTs. thats what i would do.

I don’t even think that even makes it for relatively good state schools in state.
Sorry, having unimaginably good grades and stellar ecs would not save you with that SAT grade if they ever see it, unless you got like a 200 in writing or something.

2k will get you into flagship, which if you’re in NY may help you get into some of the weaker schools at Cornell. 2200+ should be solid at Cornell. It might be low now, but it’s worth a shot to fix it. And do lots of Prep, there’s no reason to get below 700 in Writing on the new SAT, and CR and Math have gotten to be more logic-driven and less technique-driven, which should play into your favor as studies have shown that older people tend to do better than Seniors/Juniors on the SAT.

Yes, Prep work this time is essential - I’m not overlooking that at all this time. I did hear, however, that submitting the SAT’s to Cornell is not mandatory?

I know they publish transfer statistics, so I would presume that means they require them. Besides, if you can knock those out of the park, it’ll really help your app.
