composite is good. however, getting over 700 in each section is pretty ideal

yeah if they only saw the composite you would be golden. a 690 isn’t bad, but its at the very lowest point of their spectrum i think. so it could really go either way.

btw, is that the best you’ve done in CR? because you could combine two of the test dates to make it look better.

or, you could take the act really quick and see if you do better on the reading there.

yes, that is the best i’ve done on critical reading. i’m not sure why i can’t seem to do better, but so it goes.

i took the act with a 34 composite (35 if you include the writing portion) and i got a 33 on reading there, which is better.

and 740 on SAT II lit. So i don’t know where my strange CR section is coming from…

i assume one score like this won’t make or break? certainly not make…

I actually wouldn’t worry too much about that. You have a 2290, as long as the rest of your app is good, you’re fine. 25% of the admitted applicants will have a CR score of around 690 or lower.

Well, it depends. How many diseases have you cured?

i have a 2290 =] high five!

No isn’t composite only M + CR? So that would be 1490. That’s pretty good.

You’re total score is pretty awesome though, I don’t think you should worry about it.

how many diseases have i cured? my friend, it is indeed possible to be an incredibly interesting person and strong fit to a school without having cured a disease or the like.

thank you all for the advice

so if you show the lit and you send the act you’ll be absolutely fine. you have great scores!!

but, despite all this being great, that it sooo weird!! I can’t believe you did so well on the SAT II lit, which is just a hard version of the CR, and not on the normal CR… weird.

incredibly so!!! ah well
que sera sera :)

I’m guessing this has been posted before but I just stumbled onto it. Pretty interesting.

About what everyone says…750 ish across the board will put you in the middle 50%. Much lower and I’m sure you need to be an athlete or similar.

I think all depends on the context of your school or region because the people from my school who have been accepted did not have any hooks and relatively mediocre scores. I know that on CC if you don’t have a 2300 + most people will say you need to retake it, but at my school people with 2100’s have gotten into Stanford, Yale, and Harvard hookless. I think because at my school getting a 2300+ is like a miracle since most people can’t even get over 2000.

^i thought it didn’t matter about your school’s context?? :-/

i love how i’m smack dab in the middle for everything, but 90th percentile on writing =]
