I’m an 8th grader who will be attending a college prep school for the 2021-2022 school year, but I’m not really happy with the school, especially since I only chose it because it was the school with the biggest FA. I want to apply to Exeter and Andover for the 2022-2023 school year, and I would like to send in the SAT scores that I took on June 5th. My SAT practice scores were around 1410-1460, so my scores should be around there. Can I submit my SAT scores without submitting SSAT or ISEE scores when applying to 10th for Exeter and/or Andover? My SSAT scores that I took in October 2020 were around the 94th percentile. Are there any schools that you would recommend applying too? Is there anything that I can do to boost my chances of getting into Exeter?
Exeter’s web site lists which tests for each grade are accepted. You could always submit them as additional materials. When my kiddo applied last year for 11th she used SAT, PSAT and ACT. But all of the schools she applied to required those other ones for grades below 11.
I think you should give your new school a chance first, you haven’t even started classes. When you say you aren’t happy with the school, what is it? It can’t be the students and teachers, as school hasn’t started. Why don’t you see how things go - you may meet some incredible people.
On another note, if you are already convinced Commonwealth is not the place for you, then you need a well thought out application strategy for next January. If you had mixed results with admissions this past spring and you are now applying to PA/PEA, recognize how long your odds are at those 2 schools.
